This '69 Jeepster is a replica...
This '69 Jeepster is a replica of one of the Jeepsters used during the Vietnam War at the 24th Evacuation Hospital in Long Binh, South Vietnam. Steve Heffner is restoring the Jeepster with his friend who served there from 1969-1971. He has equipped it with stretchers, radios, and period-correct military markings. The Jeepster was used because of the decent ride and the power of the V-6.
We had such a great time at the 2008 show that we couldn't stay away from the 2009 Annual All Breeds Jeep Show in York, Pennsylvania. The 2008 show was the PA Jeeps Club's largest show ever, so we hit the road with high hopes for an even bigger and better show. We were not disappointed; there were an amazing 625 Jeeps and over 5,300 spectators at this two-day event. And, there were 73 vendors all waiting to show the latest and greatest gadgets, gismos, and things you can't live without. Whether you wanted to munch on some goodies from the many food vendors or shop for a cool Jeep T-shirt, the day had something to offer everyone.
One man's junk is another man's treasure, and the swap meet was a little slice of heaven for finding odds and ends for that latest project, that hard-to-find piece, or even a running, driving Jeep. The Recovery Clinic by Ron Allen was a huge crowd pleaser, as was an RTI Ramp and obstacle course. Some ran through the rocks as if they were on a freeway, while others simply ran away on the many bypasses. The log cross, hills, and twists provided a great time for all levels of Jeep and driver. By the end of the show, 96 trophies awarded.

This little beauty is just...

This little beauty is just one of the options offered straight from the Willys Overland showroom. This PTO-powered saw by Newgren can be ordered for a mere $85. The top-of-the-line Universal Jeep offered a range of other equipment, including power take-off front and rear, six-foot snow plow, bush and bog harrow, and even a 12.5 KVA generator if you wanted to dish out an extra $1153.64, which was only a few hundred less than the cost of the new Willys.

As always the swap meet was...

As always the swap meet was a treat. No matter what the project, there was something here you could use. We wouldn't want to be the ones to load this stuff back up and take back home.

Frank Maurer of Oxford, Pennsylvania...

Frank Maurer of Oxford, Pennsylvania came out to play around in his '46 Willys. It's a rabbit, a carrot, and then some. It might be small ,but it zipped around the obstacle course like it was flat land.

We think the Aqualu aluminum...

We think the Aqualu aluminum tub would look way better painted, but it's what is under the skin that counts. This '84 CJ-7 has a '69 Chevy 350 with a Howell multiport fuel-injection conversion, backed by an NV4500, and twin-sticked Dana 300. Elevation comes from a set of OME 2 1/2-inch lift springs with a spring-over conversion and an outboard kit to work with the Ford Dana 60 axles. The rear high-pinion 60 has a spool, and the front has an ARB Air Locker, both with 5.38 gears spinning the 39.5x13.5-17 Super Swamper IROKs wrapped around Walker Evans Beadlocks.

This was the "All Breeds"...

This was the "All Breeds" Jeep Show and any Jeep could come out and enjoy the obstacle course. This Liberty gets an "A" for effort but still needed some help from the recovery team when they got stuck at the top of this hill. Even the stock four-door JKs made it up this hill without any issues.

We couldn't miss this guy...

We couldn't miss this guy in his electric blue '85 Cherokee. Travis Lebrun of Redline, Pennsylvania, cruised over the rocks on the obstacle course like they were pebbles on the beach.

Sometimes things don't always...

Sometimes things don't always go as planned. Alfred Horn of Waldorf, Maryland, hit the rock garden like a pro in his '81 Scrambler, but went slightly off course and slipped off to one side. The United 4-Wheel Drive Safety Awareness team led by Ron Allen quickly ran to the rescue and got them back on track and out of a rocky situation.

Nice rims!!

Delbert and Rachel Anderson...

Delbert and Rachel Anderson made the trek down from Barker, New York, to play around in their '47 CJ-2A with a swapped-in Buick V-6, SM420 transmission, Dana 300 T-case, and front Dana 30 and rear Dana 44 hung from a custom coil-over suspension. Everyone needs one of these lying around.

The RTI ramp isn't a good...

The RTI ramp isn't a good test of off-road abilities. However, it is a great way to see if things hit or clear as demonstrated by Rob Murphy of Millmont, Pennsylvania, in his impressive '04 TJ with a 355ci Chevy V-8, SM420, 2.72:1 Klune-V, and Dana 300 with a 4:1 gears. Custom digital gauges in a custom dashboard help him keep an eye on things, while the front Dana 60 and rear Sterling 10.25 put power to the ground.
