Reservation/cancellation info: Renters must reserve with a major credit card. Cancellations made within 48 hours of rental will result in a charge of 50-percent of the full rental fee.
Insurance requirements: Renters must provide their own full-coverage vehicle insurance. Renters must check with their insurance company first to make sure they will be covered for a vacation rental vehicle.
Additional/optional coverage: N/A
Minimum age: Renters must be 25 years old.
International stipulations: Some Canadian insurance companies cover drivers when renting in the U.S., but most other international insurance companies don't. Moab Tour Company is searching for an independent insurer to cover other international renters, but as of now it will not rent to international customers with exception of Canada.
Trail stipulations: The fully-modified Jeep must stay off hardcore trails like Pritchett Canyon and Upper Helldorado. The semi-modified Jeeps can go on trails ranging up to the difficulty of Fins-N-Things. Moab Tour Company provides a guide book of the Moab area and trails. The guide book lists approved and non-approved trails for its rental Jeeps.
What is the process for damage?: A vehicle walk-around is performed at rental drop-off. The customer is to pay for items like torn tires, body damage, bent bumpers, and so on. Major damage like rollovers and bad body damage will result in an insurance claim.
What is the process for trail breakage or extreme stuck?: If a stuck or renter-incurred breakage occurs Moab Tour Company will retrieve or rescue the vehicle at a rate of $100/hour. If the Jeep suffers a mechanical breakdown not caused by the renter, another Jeep will be brought to the location and swapped out at no charge.
Moab Airport shuttle service or drop-off availabilty: Airport pick-up is offered for rental contracts of 3 days or longer including shuttle back to airport. Local in-town drop off and pick-up to hotel or campsites is offered with any Jeep rental.
Any off-road driving tips/training offered if needed: No formal training is available at this time, but the supplied guidebook has a lot of information about operating the company's 4x4 vehicles on Moab's slickrock trails.
