Chassis & Driveline

Dwight had a big task before him. Not only did he have to shoehorn 360 cubic inches of Dodge V-8 between the framerails of the Jeep where a four-popper was, but he also had to get it to run. First Dwight fabbed up some motor mounts and added a crossmember to them to keep the Jeep’s frame from twisting when the V-8 spools up under load. After the 5.9L was lowered into the engine bay, Dwight, with the help of Bill Tagney, owner of San Diego Superchargers, faced the huge task of wiring the engine, the gauges, computer, and transmission together.
