 Jeep Reader Letters Mailbag Bree

Pirate Heating

I enjoyed reading your article on upgrading heaters and A/C ("Real Heat," Nov. '05). I like the notion that the physical size of the blower motor is proportional to its speed. It's a satisfyingly simple solution to what a prima donna might feel is a slightly more complicated issue. Someone could even mention that 40-foot diameter pump motors weighing several tons only revolve around 360 rpm. Let's not get into that confusing stuff.

However, I'd like to enlist your help in applying for a research grant to study the increase in global temperature and its inverse relationship with the decrease in Caribbean pirates. I feel that your previous research into electro-magnetic physics may be a perfect fit. Would the temperature change be affected by the direction of rotation by the Pirate ships? I don't know! Let's find out.

Sorry, I have already committed my limited time and resources in research proving that the Jeep Liberty and two other currently produced models are devastating the reputation of the brand. Although, the existence of the products themselves has been extremely instrumental in my study.

Hazel is Satan Spelled Backward?

Have you ever discussed with Hazel the irony that his first name is Christian, yet he works for a magazine that promotes wonton acts of depraved debauchery, not to mention whoremongering? Yes, Bree is a naughty, filthy, little piglet who obviously needs some discipline in the form of a good old fashioned spankin' over my knee.

Do you ever call him Christ, for short? Are Christian and his father actually the same guy, in a messed up sort of way? Has he ever rained down fire and brimstone just for spite?

Fire and Brimstone? If I had that capability you'd know it.

Backside Lover

I have read every issue of Jp since the 1996 Spring Premiere Collector's Edition of your magazine. Since you've added Ask Bree Three, I still read every issue from cover to cover... only now I start at the back!

We're Impressive!

I am very impressed with your magazine! I have a subscription to two of your sister rags, and the differences are staggering. I recently acquired a '92 YJ with a four-banger and (what I think is) a 21/2-inch lift sitting on 31-inch BFGs. Naturally, I was so excited to finally be able to put those ads in the magazines to work. I soon started to feel real bad because some of the mag mods are a bit out of reach for my skills and pocket book. Dana 60s, coilovers, long arm kits, and 44s all look sweet but are no good here in Dallas going down the highway to work. I want to modify my rig but was disheartened by what is written in the other magazines. I then picked up the September '05 edition of Jp and read the articles about gearing and the four-popper swap (very relevant to my high-mileage ride). I realized there is hope for the rest of us on smaller budgets that don't have Warn and Fabtech throwing parts at us to showcase them on the latest project rig. Your gearing article especially helped me clear up some questions and helped me make some decisions. I really liked how the topics you write about focus on how to make your 4x4 more liveable on a day-to-day basis and still wheel like a mountain goat with its butt on fire. My wife also likes the fact that I am willing to stick with some of the stock components (for now) after reading some of the tech articles on the Internet. Thanks for bringing wheeling back to earth for me. I think I will have to transfer my subscription to your magazine.
