JK In Waiting
Just wanted to tell you guys how awesome your magazine is! It never gets old. Every issue is always read through at least 15 times. When are you guys going to start building up the red JK? I just bought one and am looking to you guys for the right way to build it up. I followed your advice in the past on my '98 TJ, and it came out just right. Thanks for the great mag and advice.

Check out "Plastic Amputation" in this issue (page 34) for the front bumper and winch we chose. The bummer is that our Project JK got T-boned, and it's currently residing in a body shop getting straightened out. It should be all polished and shiny by the time you read this, but for more details about the wreck and the repairs, click to the blog section of www.jpmagazine.com.
CRD Wrangler Spotted
I just pulled into the Holy Land (Moab, Utah), and in our hotel parking lot, there are six or eight Jeep test mules. I didn't have a chance to look too closely, but I did see a two-door JK CRD! Hopefully, this means the diesel JK is coming soon. I have a picture of the back end that shows the CRD emblem.

A diesel JK already exists overseas. It has the old Liberty 2.8L CRD engine and is built for just about every continent except North America. What you have seen is likely a J8 test mule or an overseas Wrangler being used to fine-tune an engine program. Several have been seen in the U.S. because this is where much testing and engineering is done. The overseas JK will not currently run cleanly enough to pass U.S. standards.
Will we see a diesel in the U.S.? Sure, but I think it will have a Cummins engine, not the older Italian-made VM Motori powerplant.
Three-Door Chief
I recently stumbled upon the "Jeep Autopsy" article in the Sept. '07 issue. Great article, as always, but I have a question about a picture in it. The picture in question is the one with the white Cherokee Chief. Does that Jeep have one door on the driver side and two on the passenger side, or are my eyes really that bad? Best regards, and keep up the good work on the mag!

Time for an eye exam! The Cherokee Chief in question is actually a Wagoneer with four doors.

I have subscribed to your magazine for years and have a suggestion. If you want to make a big improvement in your publication, stop talking so much about yourselves (Cappa, Hazel, Trasborg, and so on) and focus more on the Jeeps. It's getting really boring, but maybe I've been subscribing for too long.

More Charlee Pics
I was flipping through my Jun. '07 issue of Jp Magazine yet again this morning and couldn't help but notice the Idea Guy submission to Mailbag. Being a girl myself, I think he has a point as far as choosing women for the magazine goes.
While I understand men's fascination with hot bodies and big boobies, why can't a real Jeep girl be put in print? Sure, the girls in there have the aforementioned perks, but what remotely Jeep-relevant info do they offer?
I may not have as impressive knockers or the same collagen-riffic lips, but I do have a Cherokee lifted 10 inches with long arms, hydro-assist steering, front and rear Dana 44s, 37-inch IROKs, and a bunch of other goodies to make up for my lack of double-Ds and fancy hair extensions. The bottom line: I build and break my Jeep myself, and I know there are other girls out there that are the same breed as me. I'm not an angry girlfriend protesting that type of thing in a magazine, and I'm not saying Jp should be scantily clad free, but maybe it's time to find a column girl who can provoke a couple thoughts above the belt, too.

Ummm, Charlee. Can ya e-mail more pics? Trust me, you wanna see more pics of Charlee. All we got was an unusable color copy of an image that's now hanging on the wall in the office. We would have totally run it in print if it was usable!

Got a question or comment about Jp Magazine or the village idiots at the helm? Drop us a line. Don't forget to include your full name and where you're from, or we'll make fun of you. Actually, we may make fun of you anyway. Keep it short and to the point, or we'll hack and chop your letter as we please. We get a lot of mail, but we read every letter. Unfortunately, we can't print or personally answer every request. We're too busy surfing the Internet on the company dime. Digital images should be no less than 1,600x1,200 pixels (or two megapixels) and should be saved as a TIFF, an EPS, or a maximum-quality JPEG file
