After. Fold the rear seats flat and lay the BedRug in position. The one-piece BedRug extends from the hatch opening to the tops of the rear seat backs. A little hand pressure attaches the hook-and-loop fasteners, yet the BedRug remains easily removable for cleaning.

If you want to use the factory tie-down loops, use a utility knife and carefully cut a 1-inch slit above each one, letting the loop stick through the BedRug. Alternatively, you could drill out the rivets that hold the tie-downs and reattach the loops with sheetmetal screws through the BedRug. This second option doesn’t, however, allow the BedRug to be quickly removed.

Sure you can throw an old blanket or piece of cardboard in the back, but a smarter solution is to get a BedRug from Wise Industries. BedRugs are molded to fit your vehicle and come in charcoal, beige, gray, and basic black color-fast colors designed not to fade. The best part is, unlike the old blanket/cardboard idea, the polyester carpet bonded to closed-cell polyethylene foam is impervious to moisture and organic, chemical, and petroleum products. That means easy to clean and stainproof.

The BedRug will keep your Jeep’s carpet (and resale value) showroom nice. And protecting your sizeable SUV investment is just plain, good, old-fashioned, horse sense. Wise choice.
