Dirty, Dirty YJ
Somewhere in that cloud of mud is Eliot Grime's '93 Wrangler. Eliot is from Casselberry, Florida, so it's no wonder he's found a hole like that in which to shoot a picture. Inside, Eliot's Jeep has no carpet, three on-board toolboxes with enough parts and tools to get him out of a jam, and a fire extinguisher. On the outside he has 2-inch receivers front and rear with a Warn 8000 on a receiver mount, so he can get himself out regardless of how deep he gets. The 31x10.50 Hoosier ATs don't sound like the best bet for this terrain, but they sure seem to work well.
Not Your Mom's Wagon
Not ours either, unfortunately. It belongs to Andy Teerman of Mulino, Oregon, and he's put three years of blood, sweat, and tears into building his abnormal grocery getter. We aren't sure where he gets his groceries, but with a Turbo 350 transmission, a B&M Megashifter, an NP208 transfer case, and a Chevy 283 V-8 sporting headers, dual 2 1/4-inch exhaust, and John Deere mufflers, he'll have no problem getting there. There's a pair of Dana 44s under the Jeep with 5.13 gears spinning the 33x12.50-15 Super Swamper TSLs and a spring-over with a body lift to clear the tires.
We're Just Not Sure
There was some confusion regarding Dean's '98 TJ. He told us he's from Castro Valley, California, but he didn't tell us his last name. He then went on to tell us that he bought his first Jeep, a stock '98 TJ, in 1990. That confused us, but we liked the picture, and his Jeep has a 4:1 conversion in the NP231 with the stock engine and transmission. The factory Dana 44 rear and the Dana 30 front both received Power-Loks and 4.56 gears to help turn the 35x12.50-15 Goodyear MT/Rs. Whoever Dean really is and whenever he really got his Jeep, it sure looks like it works well for him.
