Yellow? Jeep
It's funny. Trasborg has a '76 CJ-5 in Crossville, Tennessee. So when Dennis Brown of Crossville sent in a picture of his '80 CJ-7, we had to run it. He claims it is Corvette Yellow, but all we see is mud. Power comes from an AMC 304 V-8 that then goes through a Torqueflite 999 and Dana 300. The stock Dana 30 front and AMC 20 rear got 3.73 gears while the rear got one-piece axleshafts. A Genuine Suspension 4-inch lift provides the elevation for the 33x12.50R15 Bridgestone MTs wrapped around 15x10 steel rims.
Badlands Wrangler
There isn't much Wrangler left in Tad Hubner's '92. We aren't sure what's near Oregon, Illinois, for him to wheel this thing on, but it's big. With custom front and rear spring packs, along with a 3-inch body lift, he's got plenty of clearance for the 38x12.50-16.5 Super Swamper TSLs. A 350ci Chevy engine turns a Turbo 400 automatic transmission mated to an NP205 transfer case. The driveshafts are homemade and lead to a 14-bolt rearend with a spool and a temporary 10-bolt frontend. Keeping the custom springs and axles under control are a set of 12-inch travel Skyjacker shocks.
Airborne XJ
Trapper Grover of Rockford, Michigan, sent us this picture of his aired-out '91 Cherokee in the Silver Lakes Dunes of Michigan. With a Lincoln-locked rear Dana 35, a stroked 4.7L inline-six, and a Rusty's off-road 6.5-inch lift, he's got no problems running those dunes. At least until he lands.
