Hawaiian MJ
Andrew Mattos of Hilo, Hawaii, sent in this '88 Jeep Comanche. The Renix-injected I-6 was bored 0.030 over and given a high-flow intake, port-and-polished intake manifold, Borla header, and Flowmaster muffler. All that goes through the stock BA10/5 transmission that is still hanging tight at 200,000 miles. The front got a plethora of Rubicon Express parts for a total of 9 inches of lift, while the rear got a spring-over conversion, 2 1/4-inch lift shackles, and 3-inch add-a-leafs for about the same amount of elevation. All that rides on 33x12.50R15 BFG Mud Terrain tires on 15x10 Mickey Thompson Classic Lock II Rims and is motivated by a front Detroit Locker and 4.56 gears, while the rear Dana 44 got a spool.
Lead-Based CJ
Andrew Mays of Newark, California, sent in this picture of his really clean '85 CJ-7. From the high-gloss luster, we figure it must have been repainted with the old-school, lead-based paint. He didn't tell us that, but he does mention that the stock 258-ci inline-six still hands power off to the T5 manual transmission and Dana 300 transfer case. The stock axles turn some 33-inch mud terrains on Pro Comp series 51 rims while a 4 1/2-inch Rubicon Express lift provides clearance.
Built Jeep
We're guessing the Jeep's owner is Darrin Davis, but don't know where Darrin is from, where he normally wheels his Jeep, or anything like that. What we do know is that it's got the stock six-cylinder, automatic transmission, and transfer case. But then the Jeep got a 5 1/2-inch Rubicon Express Extreme Duty lift, 4.88 gears and Detroit Lockers in some unspecified front, and rear high-pinion axles. The wheels are 15x10 simulated bead locks and 35x13.50 black tires. We might not have all the details, but it sure is a pretty picture.
