Blue Bully
Trasborg is a sucker for Jeepsters, even the bullnose C-104s that so many dislike. So, when he saw this one from Jamie Segal of Conifer, Colorado, he had to run it. It has the six-cylinder with a two-bbl Motorcraft 2100, HEI conversion, and power steering and brakes. The T-14 three-speed is still bolted up to the Dana 20 transfer case. The front Chevy Dana 44 is hung from '85 Toyota springs in a spring-over configuration while the rear Dana 44 got an Eaton ELocker and is hung under the stock springs. That provides enough lift to clear 37x12.50R15 Goodyear MT/Rs.
Cross Country
This '04 TJ hails from Walla Walla, Washington, but Ernie Pound tells us that he likes wheeling in the Northwest and Uwharrie National Forest which is in North Carolina. This Rubicon is equipped with the NV3550 and still sports the stock engine, transfer case, and front and rear Dana 44s. The engine was warmed up with an AEM intake, the Jeep got a 4-inch lift with a Belly-Up skid plate a 33-Engineering low-profile transmission mount for no body lift. A Warn 8274 winch sits out front a customized Smittybilt front bumper, Big Daddy Off-Road rear tire carrier and AEV heat reduction hood rounding off the look.
Everything And A Heavy Foot
Jacob Meganck of Owosso, Michigan, wrote in to tell us of his CJ-2A that was built from a scrap pile to a runner in a year with a ton of parts swapping. He tells us that the basic stats are 34x9.5 Super Swamper TSLs, a Dana 27 front axle and a Dana 44 rear axle with 3.73s, a 225 V-6, a T-86 three-speed, a Spicer 18 T-case, a CJ-5 frame, and a heavy foot. A '66 M416 trailer gets pulled along behind it wherever it goes and it will be converted to a camper once the trailer gets done hauling parts.
Dive Dive!
Stan Schweitzer sent us in pictures of what he calls a '51 M-38. We think it looks more like a U-boat, but then it was built to run mud. A snorkel to the top of the windshield and some ignition waterproofing on the 2.3L Ford four-cylinder keeps it running while a T-90 transmission, Spicer 18 transfer case, a front Dana 25 and a rear Dana 44 with a lunch box locker keep the power going to the 31x10.50 mud tires mounted on 15x8 steel Scout II wheels. There is a Warn 8274 winch out front just in case the heavy foot can't get the job done.
Northstar TJ
This '98 TJ was basically gutted of everything stock. Adam Ferman sent us pictures of his Cadillac Northstar-powered Jeep with a 700R4 transmission, Stak three-speed transfer case, front Dana 60 and a rear Corporate 14-bolt both with 4.10 gears and Detroit Lockers. The four-link setup is made out of 7075 aluminum with 2-inch Johnny Joints. Bilstein coilover shocks and Fox air bumps keep the 39-inch BFG Krawlers on Walker Evans beadlock wheels under control.
