Back in the July '06 issue we asked the men and women serving in the armed forces to send in their funny snafus, cool action shots, or photos of just hanging out as our small way of saying thanks for enduring the colossal suckfest that can be life overseas. Here are a few we received.
If you're a member of the armed forces and would like to send us a photo of life in your corner of the world, send it on over to christian.hazel@primedia.com with Sideways: Military Edition in the subject line or snail mail them to Jp Magazine, Sideways: Military Edition, 6420 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90048. Don't forget to give us a little back story in case we run the photos. In the meantime, stay safe, do your jobs well, and come home in one piece. And thanks from everyone at Jp Magazine.
Here's a picture of my M1114 uparmor Humvee while out on patrol on MSR Tampa N in the rural areas just north of Baghdad. You may notice the cool hand-painted tiger stripes and skull hood ornament. We're on our second hood, third set of windshields, third radiator, and I don't know how many outer door and turret skins after all the IED's and small arms we've taken over the last, long year.David BridgemanU.S. Army
On top of a mountain near Kandahar, Afghanistan. Not the same as cruising around in my Jeep back home in Indiana! Thanks for supporting our troops!John PlasseU.S. Army 219th Base Ops
