It's the April issue, but it's Christmas time as this is being written. Many of our men and women in the armed forces are sitting in a dirt hole somewhere protecting our ability to remain all snuggly-wuggly in our houses with our families around us. The news is ablaze about Tiger Woods and his indiscretions, how Kanye West got snubbed at the Grammys, and what's going on with the TV show, The Biggest Loser. Jeez. But let's not forget to show our support to our overseas troops. You can write a letter, send a care package, or just give a thumbs-up next time you drive past a military convoy on the street. Check a Google search for "military care package" and log on to operationmilitarypride.org, anysoldier.com, give2thetroops.org, operationshoebox.com, or any number of other sites to send 'em your old magazine, snacks, personal care items, or other suggested material. This photo was taken near Karmah, Iraq. I was on patrol and saw a Jeep and just had to get a picture of it. The owner came out and we talked for a bit. I could not believe it when I saw it. I own two Jeeps. Love them and love your magazine.

This is from my last deployment to Camp Bucca, Iraq. When we returned from convoys, we would position a gun truck to keep civilian traffic from nearing the entrance while the convoy entered. The gunner of this truck, while preparing to fire a flare, stumbled somehow and the flare went off in the truck. Over 1,000 rounds of ammo, grenades, anti-tank rockets, flares, and everything else burned to a crisp. The crew escaped with minor injuries. The fire melted 3-inch-thick glass.
