Sypder-Covered Rear
This is a bumper that was never really intended for public consumption. It was originally designed for Poison Spyder's owner, Larry McRae, to provide a 60-degree departure angle with 40-inch tires. The bumper is CNC laser-cut from 3/16-inch plate steel, brake-formed for an exact fit, and offers optional 1-inch-thick plate steel shackle tabs. If you don't want the maximum clearance and departure angle possible, stay tuned, as Poison Spyder will soon have a full-featured full line of bumpers for the JK. Blockhead-Less
With some of the manufacturing capabilities available to us today, why would anyone want a squared-off rack that makes your Jeep look like Herman Munster? The curves of the Baja Rack aren't only for good looks, though; it also helps shed low-hanging tree limbs when you hit them. These racks are made from steel and feature a zinc primer with a black powdercoat finish and are currently available for the two- and four-door JK. Information: Baja Rack, 760/621-0171, bajarack.com
Cut-It-Out
If you've got a V-8 in your Jeep and are tired of the droning of your high-flow performance exhaust, you should check these cut-outs, er, out. You can run a bearable exhaust on the street, and use the gear-reduction drive powered by a 12VDC motor and rotating gate when you want to cut loose. Race-day is only the push of an illuminated rocker switch away. The cut-outs are available in singles and duals and the Y-pipe design makes for an easy install; they are available in 21/2- and 3-inch diameters. Advanced Placement Stick
We have been running an Intellistick in our '98 Cherokee for a while now, and the company has stepped up with optional in-dash gauge and 30-day storage of oil condition data. There are two gauges available-either a warning-light-based gauge, or a gauge that includes an LED numeric readout. The gauge means that you no longer have to carry around a Bluetooth-enabled device. The software has been tweaked to more easily monitor needed maintenance intervals and the available threaded sensor can be located for more accurate monitoring of oil level to keep off-camber false-positives at bay. Big 10-inch
Warrior Products has had tube flares for the JK on the market for a while and is now introducing a 10-inch-wide flare, which is 21/2 inches over the flares that the company has on the market now. The tube is a 1.5-inch OD and is available in a black powdercoat finish while the top plate is available in polished, powdercoated, and powdercoated diamond plate to match your personal taste. The bolt-on installation makes it easy and there is an optional LED light kit with wiring harness available that mounts to the leading edge of the flare.
