Slim to Win Notice something wrong with this TJ? Its missing two slats from the grille. The Currie Jeep sports a body that has been narrowed several inches, a 4.7L Grand Cherokee engine and transmission, an Atlas transfer case and Ford 9-inch axles front and rear. The 37-inch tires hit home. |

American Expedition Vehicles built this 2000 Grand Escape Limited concept Jeep with a 5-inch lift, a sweet front bumper, and Swampers. With a school-bus yellow paint job, we couldnt miss it. |

Big Burner Swap All right, its not a Jeep engine. But a GM burner is probably the most popular swap. GM introduced its new Ram Jet 350 that pushes 350hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. The best part is the simple fuel injection and ignition system that only require a 12-volt wire and a fuel line. The computer can fit in the palm of your hand and is already attached to the engine. It doesnt get any simpler than this, folks. Information: see your local GM dealer. |

Big Inch Yep, those are 38s on the Skyjacker TJ sporting the new 8-inch lift. The boys down South also debuted an 8-inch Cherokee lift. Information: 318/388-0816, www.skyjacker.com. |

Coil Royal The coil conversion battle isnt over yet. Tomken offered a total bolt-on kit for CJs that provides 4 to 5 inches of lift. For now, the kit only works with stock axles, but other applications are in the works, including a kit for YJs. Information: 719/395-2526, www.tomken.com. |

Shock-a-Lock After years of other companies playing electric locker hide-and-seek, Tractech stepped up to the plate and introduced its new Detroit Locking Truetrac. The differential works like a gear-driven limited slip until an electric solenoid is engaged by a button on the dash. The unit then becomes fully locked. Information: 810/759-1645, www.tractech.com. |

Bolt-On Bolster Superior Axle & Gear introduced a bolt-on truss for the Dana 35. The Super 35 Truss should keep your 35 from getting the bends when abused. It clamps onto the axle, replaces the diff cover, and fits YJs, XJs, and TJs. Information: 888/522-2953, www.superioraxle.com. |

Remote Reeler Ramsey showed us this new water-resistant wireless remote that will work on any winch. The controller fits on your key chain and is about the same size as a car-alarm controller. It has both in and out functions. Information: 918/438-2760, www.ramsey.com. |

Hot Rearend TeraLow put a reverse-rotation Dana 60 housing on a diet and came up with the Tera60R axlehousing. The Tera60R uses trimmed reverse-rotation Dana 60 gears so it has the same raised pinion location. The liposuctioned centersection offers more ground clearance than a Dana 44, while a custom thick cover keeps oil in, and rocks out. Information: 801/256-9897, www.teraflex.com. |

Lock Her Down Under Another selectable locker surfaced from Down Under. Jack McNamara showed us this unit (even though it is on a Toyota third member). The locker can be controlled by air, vacuum, DC linear actuator, or a cable. Jeep folk will have to settle for Dana 60 and 70 units for now. Youd think that as magazine guys wed get the scoop on cool innovative products every day. Youre right! However, sometimes were just not allowed to say anything about them until they are available to the public (think about that the next time you find it hard to keep a secretgeez).
A recent trip to Las Vegas, Nevada, exposed more than pimps in gold lamé suits and empty pockets. We spotted some killer new products and vehicles at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) annual event. Even though many of the booths were full of rice-rocket car parts and scantily clad models, we were able to keep ourselves focused on the Jeep goodiesmost of the time. Heres some of the candy we drooled over.
