If your Jeep axles are weaker than Ally McBeal or have a track width near the same as her waistline then you’ve probably thought about expensive custom axles. But if you’re real budget-minded then maybe an axle swap is what you need. The most common swap question is, “What do I use and what modifications will I have to do to make it fit?” Every swap is different, but we’ve done some of the legwork for you here and picked some axles that are often inexpensive, easy to find, and perfect for swapping. We’ve included measurements, inside info, and tips on using each axle. Most swaps will require some modification and even welding, but some are straight bolt-ins. Other swaps we’ve come up with just seem like good ideas that we haven’t seen anyone take advantage of. So here’s the skinny on axle swappin’.
