Old School Safety Techniques Heigh Of Rollbars
Note the height of the rollbars on these Jeeps during a competition in '68. I guess these guys figured that they could duck down.

Old School Safety Techniques Bracing A Rollbar

Old School Safety Techniques Fenderwall Angle Iron
Rollbars were originally mounted to the fenderwell on a piece of angle iron. This one has also been bolted to the side of the body with what looks like a plywood spacer. It's easy to visualize how, on a hard rollover, the angle iron would just push down, breaking the spot-welds on the side of the body. The bolts in the side helped keep this from happening.

Old School Safety Techniques 60S Rider
