Jeep Wiring Battery Coil
If you're getting gas in your carbed rig, but it doesn't go, then you aren't getting spark. Check all the normal suspects if you must, but unless you carry around a bunch of spare electrical parts, it will come to running a wire that is at least 12 gauge from the battery to the positive side of the coil (the left-side, most often). Jeep Wiring Starter
Once you've done that and the wire is secure from underhood dangers, the time has come to jump the starter. If you still have the Ford-style starter that has the solenoid mounted to the fender or firewall, your job is easy. Locate the big wire coming from the battery, then take a wire and jump from the positive terminal on the battery to the big lug opposite that one you just found-that's the one going to the starter. Be careful; there is high current going through that wire, and it can pack a whallop.

Jeep Wiring Chevy Starter
If you have converted your Jeep over to a Chevy-style starter or that's what it originally came with, begin at the starter end. Fasten the wire securely to the terminal the small wire goes to, run it up the firewall and toward the battery (make sure to zip-tie or duct-tape it in place), and then touch it to the battery. The reason you've run the wire securely is in case you stall the Jeep and need to restart it.
