Even if it doesn't move, sharp objects are to be avoided. Body panels are really bad, so use a grommet. Heat is another killer of wires. Keep wires 2 inches or more away from hot things.

Keep wires away from moving parts. I can't cover this enough. If it needs to move for you to operate the Jeep, the wire should be nowhere near it-treat it like it's hot. In this case, we have a gas pedal, which over time, will wear the wire and cause a fuse to pop or a fire.

It doesn't take a genius to see this is bad. Always keep wires away from vital moving parts. If the moving part doesn't wear the protective coating off the wire, it will eventually snag the wire, and you won't be able to turn or brake or whatever.
